Original research into Google Search Console's data limitations, sampling behavior, and hidden metrics. Every study uses real, anonymized data from sites synced through gscdump.
Studies
The GSC Data Iceberg We analyzed real sites to quantify how much keyword and page data the GSC UI hides compared to full API access. Includes Data Loss Benchmarks by Site Size. Read →
Methodology
All research follows these principles:
- Anonymized aggregates only — no individual site data is ever shared
- Transparent limitations — sample size, selection bias, and methodology disclosed upfront
- Reproducible — methodology documented so others can validate findings
- Licensed CC BY 4.0 — use our findings freely with attribution and a link to gscdump.com
Why We Publish Research
The SEO industry relies on incomplete information about GSC's data limitations. Google documents some constraints (16-month retention, privacy filtering), but the practical impact on real sites is rarely quantified.
We have a unique dataset: daily API syncs across sites of varying sizes. This lets us measure what others can only estimate.
